CaptureME
CaptureME is a web-based application that provides potential cardholders the ability to upload their ID photo and verification document via a secure web browser on their computer or mobile device. The solution removes the need for the applicant to physically visit an ID station to get a photo taken for their ID card or mobile credential (Virtual ID).
Development History
For more than 35 years, Unicard Systems has been a leading supplier of innovative ID issuance solutions. During this time we have developed an understanding of our customer’s needs, tailoring robust customised solutions. Improved efficiencies lead to a better user experience, lower operation costs and a higher level of customer satisfaction.
How can we reduce the queues at enrolment times?
The most common question asked by our customers was, “How can we reduce long queues at busy ID issuance times?” Not only was this stressful for applicants waiting in queues to obtain an ID card but it also resulted in a poor user experience.
Conventional methods to alleviate the issue was to hire more casual staff and purchase more card printers. Unfortunately, in most cases, the extra expenditure didn’t reduce the queues or improve the user experience.
Working closely with our customers, we soon developed an understanding of process bottlenecks within their operation. From here, CaptureME was born, a unique web-based application developed to streamline ID photo capture, verification and approval.
How can we save time managing replacement cards?
Typically, the largest time sink in the administration of ID issuance is with the 10% of users that have an unconventional reason for replacement. CaptureME solves this problem by giving the user the ability to apply for the replacement without any, or minimal, staff contact. Since each workplace is different, CaptureME has a customised replacement logic process for each CaptureME client.
Typical workflow options
While this flowchart is dedicated to Student ID Credentials, CaptureME can easily be modified and used in any other scenario you can imagine where credentials are issued, Clubs; Hospitals; Mining; Government; Construction, to name a few.
Using the flowchart above from one of our University customers you can see every choice the student has for replacement. These choices being available to the student on their own device before seeking assistance from staff already clears up a common contact point for administration. Each choice on the CaptureME interface provides the relevant University specific information that the student needs for making that selection. Where available, CaptureME also makes sure the choice is valid from the information provided within the customer database, i.e. the “Expired” selection would only work if the users card was indeed expired.
Each blue node in the chart represents a choice or process that is handled by CaptureME and the student, the orange nodes are where administration is required by staff. You can see that CaptureME removes an extensive amount of staff contact compared to traditional in person replacement where the whole chart would have previously been orange.
We have found during user acceptance testing (UAT) that the users of CaptureME actually prefer the process of CaptureME compared to in person contact. Each step in the flowchart that requires user input is something that would have already been required from them in a traditional scenario, there is no extra work for the end user. Pair this with the choice of having your users receive their card from a Self-Service Kiosk and they can have an entirely contact free transaction if they choose to, or if you want them to. CaptureME reduces the complexity for your staff, while streamlining the entire experience for both staff and the end user.”
